Uneeda School 1910 – 1942
Uneeda operated for 32 years when the students were sent to a consolidated school in Paradise Valley. The name Uneeda came about in an interesting manner. Someone at the organizational meeting mentioned that “You need a school.” Someone else replied, “That would be a good name.” Thus U-need-a was christened.
Brassington was one of the family names in the community in 1910. In 2007 when the sign was installed, it was the Brassington family who were there to do the work. Eva Brassington Waterfield organized the day and had her two brothers help out. They were inspired by their over 90 year old father, who thought it was a great idea to mark the school site.
