Thomasville 1909 – 1947
The Thomasville School site is located south of Kitscoty. Like many of the other one room schools, the building served many purposes. It was the centre for most community activities. The school operated until 1947. The building still stands but is not in use.
For a few years the building was used as a community center, but communities grow smaller and people need bigger and better buildings for functions. In 2006 the acreage was sold. The community was anxious to have a sign erected so that the school would not be completely forgotten.
On Thanksgiving Monday 2006 an enthusiastic group gathered at the sight and the sign was installed. We didn’t have quite enough man power to do the job, but some girl power got it done.
