New CERTA President

I am deeply honored to accept the role of President of our Central East Retired Teachers Local Branch.  I must admit I have enjoyed holding this position in the past and look forward to once again working with our provincial ARTA organization.  I’m truly grateful and proud to represent a group that has dedicated their lives to shaping the minds and hearts of our young people. Though we’re retired, our impact continues.  We carry forward a legacy of service, wisdom, and care – values that still matter deeply today.

A special thank you to Eileen Hines, our past president, and our executive committee for your leadership during the last three years.  I’m looking forward to working closely with each of you as we move into this next chapter to keep our branch strong, connected, and engaged.  It’s going to be an exciting year as we make plans to celebrate our 50th Anniversary of CERTA this October.

Together, let’s continue to uplift one another, advocate for what matters, and remind the world that retired teachers care about our world and we still have a lot to offer.  I want to ensure our branch continues to be a place of connection, celebration, advocacy, and support.  Whether it’s honoring the contributions of our members, staying engaged in education policy, or simply finding ways to keep us connected in meaningful ways – I promise to give this role the dedication it deserves.  Thank you once again for this opportunity.
