President’s Message

I am proud to lead our group for another two-year term and want to thank all the Executive and members for their support and encouragement at the June AGM.

This newsletter serves as a reminder of our upcoming PARTA year and dates you may want to put in your calendar.

I sure hope we can count on your continued support to be one of the most vibrant branches of the Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association (ARTA).

Meetings for 2023-24:

We have, once again, signed a contract for the 2023-24 year to hold our meetings at the

Spruce Grove Golden Age Club Pioneer Centre located at 301 Jespersen Ave (E of City Hall.)

Executive set-up will be at 9:00 am and the meeting will be scheduled from 10:00 – 12:00 am.

Coffee and goodies will be provided. You will receive an invitation for the Oct. 10 meeting by email. 

 

Because so many of our members attend their annual “to hell with the bell” functions with their previous staffs and the Second Wind Conference held on Sept.7, 2023, we will begin our meetings in October.  This also allows us to bring information from the ARTA Annual General Meeting held Oct. 3-4.  The following dates are reserved for our meetings throughout the year:

-October 10, 2023 (ARTA Presentation)                     -February 13, 2024

-November 14, 2023                                                        -March 12, 2024

-December 12, 2023                                                         -April 9, 2024

-January 9, 2024 (New Years’ Breakfast)                   -May 14, 2024 (Spring Breakfast)                       -June 11, 2024 (AGM)

 

COMING EVENTS:

September 12:  ARTA Board of Directors Meeting.

October 4-5:  ARTA Annual General Meeting.
