WOLF CREEK RETIRED TEACHERS’ ASSOCIATION HEART & SOLE WELLNESS WALK AND SPRING LUNCHEON

WHEN:  Monday, June 1, 2026

Doors open at 10 am for the walk and games/coffee/visiting.

For those coming just for lunch and the meeting, lunch will be at 12 pm.

WHERE:  Ponoka Drop In Centre, 5015 – 46 Ave., Ponoka

COST:  $15/person payable at the door for soup and sandwich lunch and anniversary cake by Bob Ronnie Catering.

Cost is being subsidized from our ARTA grant.

RSVP:  Please RSVP by Monday, May 25 if you are attending or not.

ARTA affiliate members are welcome as WCRTA branch members. Spouses/partners or an accompanying friend or family member are always welcome at our events.

AGENDA:   

– Doors open at 10 am.

– In conjunction with the ARTA Heart & Sole Wellness Walk we are collecting donations for the Rimbey foodbank.  A collection box will be available at registration.  (In 2024 we supported the Lacombe foodbank and in 2025 the Ponoka foodbank.)  We are looking for a Rimbey participant to take the donations back.

– Those taking part in the ARTA sponsored walk depart at 10:30 am.

Feel free to join the walk even if you didn’t pre-register.  ARTA just

needed numbers to order swag for the event. We are utilizing the nearby Battle River trail system.

– Games time and visiting for those not walking.  Please bring your games, cards, crib boards, etc. with you.  Coffee will be on.

– Lunch at 12 pm.

– WCRTA meeting to follow lunch to conclude the recognition of our branch’s 50th anniversary.

– Door prize draws.

WCRTA branch activity fees can be renewed or extended at the door. $5 a year or $20 for five years.  Every WCRTA member that is also an ARTA member contributes to our numbers for the ARTA grant, which helps us finance and subsidize our branch activities. Please help spread the word about this event and encourage others to attend.  Try to bring someone new or someone that hasn’t attended in a while.  Offer a ride, especially to those colleagues who no longer drive.  Besides retired teachers and their spouses, all retired education sector employees and ARTA affiliates are welcome as branch members.  Hope to see you there on June 1.
