June 2020 Newsletter
It looks like summer is finally here. Our lives have changed since COVID-19 reared its ugly head in March and the pandemic created fear, anxiety and uncertainty. Trips have been cancelled and plans changed. I hope you are well and managing the situation.
Our FRTA AGM Gary Sawatzky hosted us on ZOOM with 25 members in attendance.
We were able to host two events during the 2019/20 year. The No Bells breakfast and the Christmas Luncheon were well attended. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the St Patrick’s Day social because of the pandemic and no further activities were planned.
I am disappointed to report that the executive has decided to cancel the 2020 No Bells breakfast. We encourage you to meet with a comfortable number of friends and colleagues on August 31 and enjoy breakfast together. We appreciate your understanding.
Accessing your ARTA Retiree Benefits Plan is about to get easier – an announcement is coming in September, and I encourage you to check out the ARTA or FRTA website to review the changes.
All the members of the executive agreed to let their names stand for next year. Please consider how you would like to contribute for next May FRTA AGM.
We hope you will keep up your membership for 20/21. A newsletter later this summer will outline further details.
FRTA executive wishes you all a wonderful summer.
