Foothills Retired Teachers’ Association donate $500 to the Okotoks & District Seniors’ Club

At the Foothills Annual General Meeting, a motion was passed to donate $500 to the Okotoks & District Seniors’ Club. The club is a registered non-profit society and is the only seniors-focused organization we have, which makes it a very important organization to support.

Especially during this difficult time, it is essential for everyone to feel connected as we continue to be isolated.  The Okotoks & District Seniors Club is a very important place for our senior community as it provides a safe, friendly and engaging atmosphere.  It is also a place for camaraderie, interaction and learning opportunities.  The professional staff works very hard to deliver high-quality programs and services that keep our valuable seniors healthy, engaged and interested. The staff are working very hard during this pandemic to keep the seniors socially connected while maintaining a physical distance.  This will go a long way to contributing to the strength and resiliency of their members.

It is very important that there be a positive place for our senior citizens to go as they represent the heart of our community!  They make impactful contributions such as supporting family members and friends, to assisting charities and volunteering.
