HARTA May Mini-Conference

The Heartland Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association (HARTA) is hosting a conference on May 9, 2023, which is open to all ARTA members, friends, and family who wish to attend. All sessions can be accessed both in-person and virtually.
The in-person location is St. David’s United Church (4614 – 48 Street, Leduc, AB), while virtual attendees can connect through Zoom. Registration is $10.00 for online attendance and $25.00 for in-person attendance, which includes lunch.
Sessions include:
Deb Gerow: Starting a School Based on the Alberta Curriculum in India (Keynote)
Deb is ARTA’s current President, and five years after she retired, spent a year in Jalandhar, India, as the principal of a private school. Learn about her experiences navigating a leadership position in a foreign country, and about the successes and learning opportunities that came from implementing an Alberta curriculum in India.
Linda Mak: Money Mentors
Linda works to promote financial literacy through her work with Money Mentors, an Alberta-based non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a positive financial future for Alberta residents. Find out what you should know about your finances in retirement.
Stan Gerber: Touring South America and the Antarctic
Stan is a long-time HARTA member and world traveller. He will be speaking about tips, suggestions, and his experiences navigating South America and reaching the elusive seventh continent: Antarctica.
Audrey Bell-Hiller: Movement and Yoga
Since 2005, Audrey has been leading older adults in specially crafted yoga practices as a certified senior instructor with the Yoga Association of Alberta. Flexibility is a key component of physical wellness as you age, so come learn how to practice it the right way.
Registrants may add one more year to their HARTA memberships!
