Tuesday, December 2<\/span>, 2005\u00a0<\/strong>–\u00a0Christmas<\/span>\u00a0Luncheon<\/p>\n

All events will be held at the Ponoka Drop In Centre.\u00a0 As always spouses,
\npartners, or anyone that accompanies you is welcome at our events.\u00a0 Watch for
\ndetails and RSVP information a few weeks ahead of each event.<\/p>\n

Get your walking shoes ready.\u00a0 ARTA is again sponsoring wellness walks in the branches.
\nThe Heart and Sole Wellness Walk for our Wolf Creek branch will take place on\u00a0Monday<\/span>,<\/strong>
\nJune 2<\/span>, 2025\u00a0<\/strong>starting at 10:30 am from the Ponoka Drop In Centre and making use of the
\nBattle River Trail System which is close by.\u00a0\u00a0Watch for information directly from ARTA to<\/strong>
\nregister\u00a0<\/strong>for this walk.<\/strong>\u00a0 Bring a donation for the\u00a0Ponoka Food Bank.\u00a0 (Last year we
\nsupported\u00a0the\u00a0Lacombe Food Bank.)<\/p>\n

For those not walking or only going for a short walk there will be socializing and card and
\ngame playing taking place at the Drop In.\u00a0 This will be followed by our Spring Luncheon and
\nbranch meeting.\u00a0 Watch for details and RSVP information for the luncheon in May.<\/p>\n

WCRTA Updates<\/p>\n

Our 2024\u00a0Christmas<\/span>\u00a0luncheon was enjoyed by those in attendance.
\nWe raised $2984 for the Alberta Retired Teachers Charitable Foundation at the event.
\nDonna Boyd was recognized with a life membership.
\nDevin Pfahl was recognized with an ARTA volunteer award.
\nA draft of our new constitution was available, and we are looking forward to adopting it at our
\nSpring Luncheon.
\nWe were fortunate to be entertained by award winning Ponoka singer songwriter Shalaine Stebner.<\/p>\n

Doug Gill, Lawrence Hrycan, and Frank Tschabold assisted the ARTA staff at the booth at
\nteacher’s convention in February.<\/p>\n

The fall of 2025 will bring the beginning of the\u00a050th year of operation for our branch<\/strong>. We are looking
\nfor\u00a0volunteers to help with planning<\/strong>\u00a0to recognize this milestone.\u00a0 If you would like to help, please contact

ARTA Updates<\/p>\n

ARTA Facts, the News & Views magazine, and the ARTA website provide lots of information to keep track
\nof the various opportunities for involvement with ARTA.<\/p>\n

Some ARTA opportunities and deadlines to be aware of:<\/p>\n

– The ARTA Photo Contest deadline is\u00a0May 31<\/span>, 2025.\u00a0 Check out page 12 of the most recent News & Views
\nand arta.net\/photo-contest .<\/p>\n

– Keep in mind the deadline of\u00a0July 31<\/span>, 2025 for ARTA scholarships.\u00a0 See page 14 in Spring News & Views.<\/p>\n

– At the May Board of Directors meeting there will be an election for the Board of Trustees of the Benefit
\nPlan Trust Fund.\u00a0 Check out this committee on the ARTA website if this opportunity is something that may
\ninterest you.\u00a0 I can forward the trust nomination package to anyone that is interested.\u00a0 Deadline is\u00a0May 12<\/span>.<\/p>\n
