OKARTA mourns the passing of Gert Glata

OKARTA is sad to announce the passing of Gert Glata.  Our condolence goes to Lynne Glata, long term Treasurer of OKARTA, on the loss of her husband. Gert was a strong supporter of OKARTA’s events where he entertained many of us with his stories.

He was born August 20, 1931 in Seelbach Germany, passed away July 18, 2020 and is fondly remembered as a hard working, skilled man. Gert loved camping, showing Irish Setters, downhill skiing, karate, gliding/soaring (in non-motorized planes), CB radios, driving Corvette cars, eating Black Forest cake, sauerbraten, rouladen, & pasta, making wine and more recently creating beautiful jewelry. He enjoyed his shot glasses of schnapps, watching WWE and having laughs with his buddies. Attendees at the memorial attested to the fact that Gert lived a full, rich and rewarding life. Lynne, we are sorry for your loss.
