Bunco Bash a Smash

February 13 saw some of the world’s best Bunco players congregate in the activities room at the home of Doris and Gord Mallett in Kelowna. Despite a light drizzle outside, the room was dry and warm and the atmosphere was charged.

Bunco Bob went over the local rules while everyone at each table of four nervously rattled the dice in anticipation. Finally, the big red school bell was rung and the games began. The action was hot and heavy, with boisterous battles being fought at every table! Fortunately, the no-hitting rule was adhered to this year and at the end of the day, everyone escaped unscathed!

After coffee, punch and goodies, the scorecards were tallied and the awards were announced.
The quiet but deadly Lief Skaalid walked away with the grand prize for most Buncos. Marilyn Resler, the trash talking hustler that she is, won the prize for the most wins, and Doris Mallett, being the ever thoughtful hostess, took one for the team and won the booby prize for least wins.
