NWARTA Tops its Donation

At the ARTA Board of Directors Meeting in September 2019 the Alberta Retired Teachers’ Charitable Foundation (ARTCF) revealed its Donation Honour Wall at the entrance of the ARTA office.

The various colours and textures of glass allow this piece to stand as an artistic/decorative display as well as a means of recognizing donations of over $500 to the Foundation.

Thus far, the Foundation has made substantial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Calgary (supporting their educational programs), Parkinson Alberta (supporting Tele-Support Group and Peer Program) and the Canadian Institute for the Blind (CNIB).  These contributions are earmarked to programs that impact and improve the quality of life for seniors in Alberta.

At the November 2019 ARTA Board of Directors Meeting, NWARTA topped its previous contribution of $200 (presented at the ARTA AGM in October 2017) by adding $300.  These combined donations make NWARTA eligible for a glass brick on the Foundation’s Donation Wall.  Chair of the Foundation, Gordon Cummings, received NWARTA’s cheque from Branch President, Joan Godbout.
