Seniors as Advocates — YOUR VOICES ARE NEEDED

Join via Zoom and welcome NWARTA’a feature speaker, Marilyn Bossert,  at this year’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, June 16 @ 10:00 am.

Marilyn is currently ARTA’s past president as well as the Regional Representative-West at the national level with the Canadian Association of Retired Teachers (ACER-CART–L’Association canadienne des enseignantes et des enseignants retraités – Canadian Association of Retired Teachers).

Retirees are facing an increasing number of issues including: standard for long term care, pharmacare plan, pensions … Our elected officials need to hear our concerns on these and other issues affecting retirees.  There are avenues available so we have  greater impact.  Marilyn will join us to speak on her experience as an advocate as well as her work provincially with ARTA and nationally with ACER-CART.

She will connect us with resources and provide strategies so the voices of seniors have the greatest possible impact.

This is NWARTA’s second virtual Annual General Meeting.  We certainly continue to feel disconnected but there is still some time before we feel comfortable gathering together.  Let’s, however, join virtually to celebrate how we have negotiated through these COVID-times and to anticipate the joy of what is to come.
