Concerts 2020

Dear NWARTA Members:

Perhaps you’re like me and you’re missing the community musical performances that bring us joy and energy throughout the dark days of December. While “not nearly as good as the real thing”, here is some music that has given me joy. I hope you enjoy it.

Let me if you’ve found music that makes you feel good or brings you laughter, and I will share it with all our members.

Peace and joy be with you,
Joan

You may want to watch a couple of YouTube performances by the Grande
Prairie Boys’ Choir (These are not Christmas pieces but incredibly well
done.)

I see Fire (June 2015, 5 min)

Non Nobis (May 2020; 3:30 min)

Over a thousand voices came together to break a record and to bring this medley of Christmas songs beginning with Angels We Have Heard on High … (4 min)

The US Army Field Band Barbershop performs White Christmas (3 min)

This song performed by Pentatonix, an a cappella group, seems to be for COVID Christmas 2020, Where are You Christmas? (4 min)

Where are you, Christmas?
Why can’t I find you? …
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me?
… ours is changing … Does that mean Christmas changes too?

Christmas is here
If you care … if there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time …
I feel you, Christmas … I know I’ve found you … You never fade away.

Yes, another a cappella group (sorry, if that’s not your thing) – Home Free sings Do You Hear What I Hear? Filmed in an ice castle in Minnesota (5:30 min)

Again, Home Free. Performing O’ Holy Night (4:30 min)

How Great Thou Art (5:50)

(This was one of our mother’s favourite hymns and I know she would have loved this rendition. It just gives me goosebumps! I hope it touches your heart.)

And finally, Quarantine (4:30 min)
