{"id":469,"date":"2019-11-25T09:03:03","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T16:03:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artabranches.net\/carta\/?p=469"},"modified":"2019-11-25T09:03:03","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T16:03:03","slug":"carta-memo-for-november-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artabranches.net\/carta\/carta-memo-for-november-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"CARTA Memo for November 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*** <strong>December 5: Christmas Lunch.<\/strong>\u00a0 Doors open at 11:30 and turkey dinner at 12 noon.\u00a0 This event will also be held at the <strong>Calder School at Sunnybrook Farm (2879 Botterill Crescent). <\/strong>\u00a0We will have a full turkey dinner for $20.00 \/ person.\u00a0 Because space is at a premium you must book ahead as we are limited to 58 seats.\u00a0 We will be recognizing our CARTA Distinguished Volunteers for 2019.\u00a0 Please let us know through email at <a href=\"mailto:caretiredteachers@gmail.com\">caretiredteachers@gmail.com<\/a> if you wish to attend.<\/p>\n<p>*** The <strong>CARTA Wellness Day<\/strong>, held on Thursday, October 24 was a great day.\u00a0 So much great practical information was presented.\u00a0 Special thank you to the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julie from the Primary Care<\/strong> <strong>Network<\/strong> in Red Deer who gave an excellent presentation on all the programs through PCN,<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Suzanne Blackwell<\/strong> from the Breathing Room for the excellent workout with Chair Yoga. She awakened our eight main joints in the body,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Audrey Gauthier<\/strong> who gave an excellent overview of immunizations which adults should consider.\u00a0 Being proactive is essential!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeanette Van Hyfte<\/strong> for many techniques using watercolour in our paintings and the opportunity to make a picture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachel from ARTA ASEBP<\/strong> for the individual information on Biometrics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marie Mann<\/strong> and <strong>Margaret Roome<\/strong> for keeping us organized all day<\/p>\n<p>and<strong> ARTA <\/strong>for its generous support of our programs.<\/p>\n<p>And especially everyone who attended, brought pot luck items for the day, and took part in the presentations.\u00a0 We will probably have another session in the spring as many of the sessions were quite full.\u00a0 If you have other speakers or ideas for sessions you would like to take part in please contact us through <strong><a 28: <strong>Wayne Gauthier, Margaret Roome, and Beryl Webster<\/strong>.\u00a0 Special thank you to <strong>Margaret Roome<\/strong> who represented CARTA at all the preparation meetings with Alberta Schuya<\/strong> and <strong>Audrey Gauthier<\/strong> are our current featured writers on the website.\u00a0 Join Inkblots and share your writing.\u00a0 If you are selected as Writer of the Month, you will be asked to sign a waiver stating that you grant CARTA the right to publish your selection.\u00a0\u00a0 We also have articles on the website regarding travel experiences written by <strong>Lyle Meeres<\/strong> and <strong>Jock MacKenzie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*** Membership in CARTA is $10 \/ year or $50 for six years.\u00a0 Please contact Margaret at <a
